Casio Mini
Brief History
In the first years of the 1970s, small pocket calculators were existed, but its high price did not allow became popular, due to smaller production quantities and the used american technology. Casio started to plan a pocket-sized calculator with domestic parts for use in average households. Not only the outer design, but circuit and keyboard must have been completely redesigned for this purpose. The Casio Mini was introduced in August 1972, which can calculate the four basic operations with 6-digit numbers, so an average worker could calculate all needed calculations for the household. The value of the yen didn’t cause much deficiency for lack of the decimals. The Mini became so great success, so the next years some new Mini models were designed, the competitors couldn’t catch up quickly.
