Commodore Minuteman 2

Brief History
In 1971, Commodore, as an OEM partner, together with the manufacturer, the Bowmar company, released its first American-made pocket calculator, the C110 (Bowmar 901B), which was expanded the following year with a fixed-point display, but with the same circuitry. That was the Minuteman-I. In order to reduce costs, the machine was redesigned several times, and as the Minuteman-II, a version without a decimal switch was released, again, with permanently sealed rechargeable batteries. The integrated circuits remained the same as before, but the other main components were replaced with cheaper products from several American companies: first, the printed circuit board was replaced by one from Raven, later the keyboard was replaced by one from Wild Rover, and finally the display was replaced with compatible types (Antex, Hewlett-Packard). The Minuteman 3 family, which debuted in 1974, required a much smaller housing, but the remaining Minuteman 1 boxes were also used; the machines made in this way were marketed under the type designation Minuteman 2PM and 2SR.
