Commodore 4109
Brief History
One of the first calculator with the well-known famous Commodore-design was the rechargeable model 4109 with 10-digit capacity, which provided some semi-scientific functions in addition to standard features. Commodore, who hasn’t yet been committed to MOS Technology, utilized a circuit made by Western Digital Corporation, and a LED display from National Semiconductor Corporation. This machine was proudly holds the label on the back: Made in U.S.A. Later, Commodore — among with other manufacturers — moved the production to countries have lower labor costs, e.g. Japan and Hong Kong, however, the factories in US and UK had been equipped with state-of-the-art automatic production lines.
