Olympia CD94

Brief History
In 1975-76, Matsushita developed several types of scientific calculators, mostly using its own manufactured circuits. These were also distributed by Olympia International in Europe under its own type markings. As is typical of the product lines of that era, we could choose either higher accuracy or more functions: the JE-1401 (Panac SD-1) was built with an US-made Rockwell chip, which differed from other versions with its 10+2 digit display accuracy and calculation of hyperbolic functions. This was released in Europe as Olympia CD 94. The JE-1403 was an 8+2 digit machine, which supports two levels of parentheses, angle conversions, and standard deviation calculations. This machine was sold as Olympia CD 92. Later on, scientific calculators with VFD displays were soon replaced by their slim and low-power successors with liquid crystal displays, which were continuously present under both brands.
